We loved the staff, very friendly help from Lesley, Fernanda on the front desk. Mario, Antonio on the roof and other restaurants, were all great. It took a few days for them to not be so shy, but they were all lovely. We loved that this was a small boutique hotel. Yes, the beachfront is small, but it was very relaxing compared to the monster resorts. The rooftop pool is stunning

the rooms are the key of this hotel. its all about the rooms, which are absolutely beautiful, all around 65 square meter each. probably one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever had, and I’ve travelled quite a bit. second of all, the staff is the other big + in this hotel. very polite, always smiling, always giving you their best possible service. the rooftop restaurant is a killer. dined there around 5 times and the quality of the food is top notch.

Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Staff was superb, friendly and always genuinely willing to help. Fernanda at reception was in constant contact even before we arrived (Thank you Fernanda!). For a boutique hotel the food options were good.

Directly on the beach and also has two pools. Staff were very kind and the room was amazing with a balcony and sea view. the food was also so good!

Several of the staff, in particular Ricardo, were absolutely standout. The rooftop is STUNNING and provide unbelievable views over the area. The food is exceptional and there is a very relaxed, chilled and quiet vibe about the place - perfect relaxation break and in a beautiful location nearby to Playa Del Carmen. The bedrooms are a real show-stopper. They are stunningly furnished, brand new and with some gorgeous final touches and are huge! Ad added bonus was how unbelievably comfy the king size bed was - we slept really well every single night of our holiday.

Was in Playa del Carmen for a couple of weeks relaxation & booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews elsewhere and truly it didn’t disappoint. If you are wanting to unwind in a boutique, cosy environment, with personable, attentive staff & a home-like attention to detail, this wonderful place which is relatively new, is a gem. From the extremely large and comfortable standard rooms with large balconies and spacious bathroom and shower areas, to the beach bar and dining sand covered dining area downstairs & beautiful main restaurant set up upstairs with infinity pool, the layout of the hotel means that everything is in close proximity. The food and cocktails were excellent & a step above default hotel holiday resort food, although there is something for everyone. A taxi into playa del Carmen takes only twenty minutes but if you can’t get enough of walking and explore the beach and ocean, this place is absolutely perfect. But the main thing to take away from the experience at Mvngata was the service & relaxing vibe there, which is exactly what was required. From the welcome margarita to the final dinner and cocktail there, it was a personal experience with staff who are attentive, warm, friendly and welcoming. Thanks Antonio, EK, Ricky, Luigui, Juan, Olivia, Hector, Moises, JC, Daniel, Ismael, Nefi, Guillermo, Carlos, Mario and anyone else who helped make the time here a bit more special. Was a real treat and looking forward to seeing you guys again!

We had an exceptional 5 night stay at MVNGATA. The delux beachview room was spacious, super clean and extremely comfortable. The facilities were perfect for our stay. My daughter loved her time in the pool which feels like you’re swimming in an oasis in the jungle right on the beach. The variety of restaurants were great for the time we were there. Great views from the rooftop too. Prices are UK prices, so not a place where you’ll eat for a fiver like in Thailand. So costs can definitely add up, quickly. The best part of the stay were the staff. They made us feel welcome and accommodating right from the get-go, going above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Tania who oversees breakfast is an absolutely beautiful soul with her team Marco(cito) and Mario starting our day off with warm smiles and superior service. Carlos and Roberto keeping us hydrated and comfortable on the beach 🏝️ and Mathieu and Kin guiding us on all things playa del Carmen. Thank you for welcome us with open arms to such a beautiful oasis. Can’t wait to visit again.
